Obituary of Theresa A. Insalaco

Theresa A. Insalaco, known to her family as “Aunt Tessie,” passed away on March 15, 2022. She was born on December 15, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York where she lived and worked as a secretary for the American Clothing and Textile Workers Union. She married Vincent Insalaco in 1973 and together they moved to Port Richey, Florida in 1984. Upon moving to Port Richey, Theresa joined the Jasmine Lakes Community Association and served as an officer and president of the Jasmine Lakes Ladies Club. She used her outgoing nature, affinity for parties, and talent for bringing people together to oversee an ambitious entertainment and social activity agenda for the community. From the time she was a little girl, Theresa loved playing cards. Between her weekly Pokeno group, Skip-Bo, Gin Rummy, and Solitaire, there always was a deck of cards at her fingertips. She also enjoyed many a casino trip with her sisters, nieces and nephews, and gambling buddies. Throughout her life, Theresa was a devout Catholic and attributed her success and good fortune to her faith. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Vincent, and her six older sisters Stefania, Mary, Francis, Josephine, Anna, and Millie. She is survived by several generations of devoted nieces and nephews and many wonderful, loving friends. Theresa enjoyed joking that her middle initial, “A,” stood for Adorable. No one who knew her would disagree. A funeral mass for Theresa will be celebrated at Saint James the Apostle RC Church in Port Richey, Florida on March 29 at 11:00 am.
