Obituary of Michelina Ciancio

Michelina (Mickey) Ciancio, 87, of Hudson, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021. She joins her beloved husband John and daughter, Marian Goldberg Havee, in eternity. She is greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Michael Coats, who loved and cared for her for many years. She was the loving grandmother (Nanny) to Marissa and Joshua Wright and great-grandmother to their children, Kaitlyn and Dade. Glenn and Alberto Molina-Coats were dear and precious family members with whom Mickey was very close. Mickey was born in Manhattan on March 21, 1934, to John and Mary Consalazio. She grew up in Brooklyn, where she remained until 1977. Hawley, Pennsylvania, became her home until 1987, when she finally settled in Florida. She worked as a bookkeeper in the garment district and later, in Florida, for an accountant. Mickey enjoyed Jai Lai, bingo, and the Seminole Hard Rock Casino with her husband during her lifetime. Additionally, she loved the theatre and attended as often as possible. Mickey was fond of traveling to Europe, especially Italy, the home of her family roots in her younger years. In her later years, when walking was a challenge, Mickey continued to get in her cart and go, go, go! Shopping was her all-time favorite activity! Mickey loved and took great pride in her family. The only thing that surpassed her happiness in the birth of her granddaughter, Marissa, was the birth of her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Dade. Mickey was an animal lover and is survived by her furry family, Precious, Tippy, Shakespeare, and Dixon. She loved and missed her favorite furbaby, Princess Coco, and is undoubtedly hugging her now. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor to Suncoast SPCA in New Port Richey, Florida, or a dog rescue of your choice. Visitation with the family will be held at Prevatt Funeral Home in Hudson, Florida, from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, September 28. A mass in honor of Mickey will be held on Wednesday, September 29, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8014 SR 52 E, Hudson, with interment immediately following at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
