Obituary of Lowell Dee Owens

Owens, Reverend Lowell D., of New Port Richey, formerly of Tampa, died Friday, April 9, 2021 at HPH Hospice in New Port Richey. He served in the US Army as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Demolitions Specialist and a sharp-shooter. He was born in Kidder, Ky and moved from Marion, In in 1966. He retired from Wonder Bread, and PepsiCo. He attended Living Faith Community Church of the Nazarene. During retirement he was an ordained Christian minister with a Nursing Home Ministry and a Jail Ministry in Tampa (for 25+ years), where he would play the guitar, preach the gospel and lead souls to Jesus. Survivors include his wife Sandra of 55 years (he passed on their "Emerald" wedding anniversary), three daughters, Tammie Mc Peters of Riverview, Wanda Makas of Tampa, Lola Craker of New Port Richey, and three sons, Daniel Ray of Tampa, William Threeman of Sebring and David Anderson of Ducala, GA, 15 grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Services are with Prevatt Funeral Home, 7709 State Road 52, Hudson, FL 34667. Viewing will be Tuesday April 13 9:30 am- 11:30 am, with a Memorial Service immediately following 11:30-12:30 pm. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Av, in Bushnell, FL at 2 pm.
