My condolences on the passing of Dennis. He was a pleasure to work with at GTE and with the Retiree Association. Although we lost touch with each other in recent years, I will miss Dennis. Dan Fagan

I'm Cap's first son from his first marriage, Rob. I first met Dennis in 1970 in Addison when I flew to spend some summer vacation after high school graduation, with Dad, Joan any my brothers and sisters. He and Ann came by the house to visit and I remember his sense of humor and gift of observing the positive things around him. Dad called him one of, if not his best, friend. I could see why. He truly loved people. Thanks for helping Dad and Joan find and make a home in Addison as well as Temple Terrace. He was an engineer with a big heart, sense of humor and love in his expressions. I'll miss him but remember him as well.

We are both so sorry for your loss. While we didn't know Dennis well at all, we know his lovely daughter and family and we know that he was a strong force in their lives. He must have been a strong person of faith and encouragement and love because he led a family of the same characteristics. God's peace to you all. Charlie & Barbara

Dennis Rezabek's influence in my life, in all the lives of the Capellini's, was profound and an example by which I measure myself in relationship to every child I encounter. He was witness and confidante, golf partner and goad to achieve my best. At about 14, I had a crazy vision/idea involving human powered flight and drew diagrams and sketches as to how it could work. Everyone thought I was nuts, and my dad said, "Maybe Mr. Rezabek will have some good feedback for you. He's an engineer!" We sat on the couch for half an hour (so it seemed) discussing and examining the possibilities. He was doubtful, but never negative. Instead, he was bright -- those sparkling, kind eyes and smile letting me know that he loved me, and that no idea is ever worth risking shaming a child over.
Some months later, he came to our house holding an issue of National Geographic, and on the cover was a photo of the Gossamer Albatross, the first ever human powered airplane, with a lengthy feature inside. He absolutely beamed with delight as he shared the news with me, like we both had somehow been a part of this engineering miracle! We had been. Dennis embodied the joy that's inherent to a life lived with trust, faith, love and an optimism rooted in knowing that the only things that matter are the human being standing right in front of you, and choosing to marvel at our existence.
Thank you, Dennis, for modelling such humanity.

This photo is of Dennis speaking at my mother's memorial service in 2014. I'm confident they've already met up and are showering their love upon us all!

Dennis was one of the all-time great personalities. Fun to work with, fun to travel with, fun to go out to dinner with, fun to “argue” with and fun to golf with (As long as you stayed out of eye sight and ear shot when it was his turn)
Jo and I miss you.

Am sure Dennis heard, "Well done good and faithful servant", when he met our Dear Lord.

I considered Dennis to be my best friend. We met in the 1970s in a small GTE office in Addison Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. We both transferred there from different parts of California. Soon, our families became close friends and the friendship continued when Dennis and I were transferred to Tampa. Our children grew up together, we shared holiday celebrations, birthdays and golfing.
My late wife Joan would often say, “The Rezabek's are not just friends, they are family.”
Dennis was a very giving person. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for a friend or a needy person.
I was very fortunate to have had him as a friend and will forever miss him.

Bunzie was my dad. Bunzie was my friend. And if you didn’t like Dennis Rezabek, you have issues and I can’t be your friend. He had the kindest heart of anybody I’ve ever known.
